"Skull Study II" Enamel on canvas, 2019, 24x30 inches plus black floater frame

This skull is meticulously hand-painted, and framed in a black floater frame. Most of my paintings are done in acrylic, but this was done with oil-based enamel, which allowed for very crisp lines and sharp points. The halftone is formed by one single line that branches into branches into branches for several levels. I made sure that every branch terminates in a spiral that comes to a point, while also carefully modulating its width to create the shading of the skull.
