"Cloud Study" acrylic on wood panel, 2023, 30x40 inches

This optical illusion painting is based on a photograph I took of clouds. Each and every line was very diligently refined to produce the resulting image. I really wanted to push how abstract I could make an image - in person, you might need to step way back or look in your camera to see it! This painting has a very special custom floater frame made by my woodworking friend, who finished this just a few days before he passed.
