In the Old Testament, the colors of red. blue, and purple were used to sew the veil that hung before the Holy of Holies. This veil represented the separation between God and man. When Jesus was crucified on the cross, that veil was torn. But for me, another veil had formed. Secular society had placed a veil of secularism between me and God and I considered myself an atheist for most of my life, and it was not until recently that this veil was torn away and I saw the truth of God and who Jesus is and what he did for us all. Some people say that the colors in the Old Testament foreshadowed Christ - blue representing his divinity, red representing his humanity and the blood he would shed, and purple representing his royalty as the King of Kings.
